It happened on a quiet afternoon, just as the new HUN fortifications were reaching completion. A notification popped up in the alliance applications that made the veterans freeze: Brainwrd was asking to join.
In a moment of unexpected grace, Niko and the R4s decided to hold a council. "We were once brothers," some said. "Perhaps he has learned his lesson." They decided to give him a chance—not as a leader, but as a member seeking redemption. They opened the gates and let him back in.
The grace lasted exactly five minutes.
Brainwrd didn't enter the chat with an apology. He didn't ask how he could help rebuild. Instead, he looked at the newly organized ranks, the filled warehouses, and the disciplined R4 council, and he typed the words that would seal his fate forever:
"Alright, I’ve seen enough. I’m back to save you guys. Pass the R5 crown to me now so I can get this alliance back on the right track. I’ll keep the current R4s as my assistants."
The alliance chat went dead silent.
Brainwrd expected the R4s to bow. He remembered them as the people who used to follow his every whim. But the R4s who stood before him now were the ones who had pulled HUN out of the dirt while he was hiding in 54v.
One by one, the R4s spoke up, their words cutting deeper than any blade:
Bodzman: "You abandoned us when we were at our weakest. You don't get to lead us now that we are at our strongest."
Silura: "Niko stayed. Niko bled. Niko built. You ran. The crown stays with the Duck."
Xanthia: "You aren't a leader anymore, Brainwrd. You’re just a guest. And you’re overstaying your welcome."
They made it crystal clear: he was welcome to stay as a common soldier to prove his loyalty, but he would never hold a rank of power in HUN again.
Brainwrd’s ego couldn't handle the truth. He didn't want to help HUN; he wanted to own it. Offended that his "brilliance" wasn't being recognized and fuming that he was being treated like a regular player, he threw one last tantrum in the chat.
"You'll regret this! Without me, you're nothing!" he claimed, right before clicking the 'Leave Alliance' button for the final time.
He vanished from the territory, retreating into the distance, a leader without a people.
